Xbox 360 stealing PlayStation franchises?

Don Mattrick, the head of Microsoft’s entertainment business, claims that traditional PlayStation franchises have “found a new home” on the Xbox 360 console. He issues a warning to Playstation saying their reign is over.Speaking at the E3 expo in Las Vegas, Don Mattrick claimed Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII switch is the first of many that would be released on the Xbox 360 and their future next-gen Microsoft console.
Mattrick told the E3 audience that titles associated with the PlayStation are now seen as Xbox 360 games. And he and his company are working at thier best to get Playstation’s top titles on their system.
In response to Square Enix’s decision to launch Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360, Mattrick said: “It’s another astonishing addition to our array of RPG titles. It shows that a long list of former PlayStation franchises are now finding a new home on 360. It’s happened with Guitar Hero, it’s happened with Madden and now it’s happening with Resident Evil and Final Fantasy.”
“Xbox 360 is now feeding the experience of fierce gaming loyalists whilst walking everyone into interactive entertainment. What do today’s announcements mean for you? With Xbox 360, there is no better way to deliver fun and entertainment to your living room.”
Without doubt E3 2008 has seen Microsoft grow into an even more formidable opponent. With Sony badly hurt all thats left is for Microsoft to extinguish the flame. Its highly likely that with Final Fantasy XIII switching to Xbox 360, other games will follow suit much easier under Microsoft’s very persuasive tactics.

They are monopllizing the VG industry
They give developer money for a game. Then devleopes dot spen time on the game or improve it much. they are no longer motivated to make a game once MS gives them money for exlusives becuase now they have no fear of losing money or not making profit

Where were your complaints about Sony monopolizing the video game industry when it practically held all the cards for the late PlayStation 1 era and through the PlayStation 2 era?
They are not monopolizing it if these are still multiplatform releases and Sony holds a strong first party studio.

Too bad Final Fantasy sucks now. The real time battle system is crap, and its not a true RPG anymore. Microsoft thinks “OH YES WE HAVE FINAL FANTASY ALL OUR TROUBLES ARE OVER” when thats entirely not true do to the fact that the install base that final fantasy has now is no where near as huge as it was for FF7,8,9,10. Not also mentioning that MGS4 didn’t go 360, and literally can’t go 360 (Due to the large amount of space, talking almost 3 to 4 DVDs of space).

FFX was the best game i played
and FFX-2, FFXI, FF12 were all disspointments

I think it will be ok, there will just have to be even greater competition between consoles, meaning one system may possibly have better graphics, or bonus materials, reasons to go with one console for the game instead of thee other onsole.

Im excited that FF XIII is coming out on 360 ive played and beat every final fantasy made and it is still to this day my favorite game franchise. i can under stand that the real time action is a big step from the classic tbs but they are just trying to be innovatave because thats what gamers today want. they dont want same old same old they want new and exciting. Good for 360 for this aqqusition. and i know that FFXIII wont dissapoint

WHO F***ing “stole” it from Nintendo from the start? YES Playstation, all the same with metal gear, that was originaly on Nintendo aswell.
