It has become apparent that Square Enix and Warner Bros are preparing individual bids this month for the British publisher Eidos.

Warner Bros have the upper hand owning already 20% of Eidos.
To have a controlling interest Warner Bros would need to spend about $30 million.
A spend of around $80m however would give Warner Bros total control of the company.

Square Enix therefore might have to settle for single assets considering Warner Bros’ headstart. Nevertheless it’ll be interesting to see what Square Enix do this Christmas concerning Eidos.
