Final Fantasy XIII to contain online sidequests?

With increasing information spreading from Square Enix to fans, its hard to make out what’s fact and what’s not. Square Enix often keeps a tight lip for a few weeks despite hearing secrets of its project’s escaping the headquater’s walls.

The latest rumour to hit the public at TGS ‘08 is that Final Fantasy XIII will contain optional online sidequests. Both the Playstation 3 (Playstation Network) and Xbox 360 (Xbox Live) versions of Final Fantasy XIII will have this online addition.

    Online Sidequest?

With the sidequests being optional they won’t effect the main game, plus they’ll be treated totally seperate from the sidequests in the game. Apparently these online sidequests will take place in Final Fantasy XIII’s world, not a additonal one. It’s not known what chatacter’s (or number) will be playable online.

Lets hope Square Enix shed some light on this rumour in the coming weeks.

I assume by “online” quests that mean downloadable extra content?

Would certainly be new territory for Final Fantasy.

I guess if they are developing online sidequests there will be some more online aspects like that thrown in.

Dont forget Final Fantasy XI - I know its extremely unlikely but imagine a full blown FF13 MMORPG to go with the main story/game.
