Rumours have recently surfaced of the Final Fantasy IV sequel, Final Fantasy IV: The After, hitting Western shores. If these rumours are true then the game is likely to hit either Nintendo’s Wii, DS or Gameboy Advance.

Final Fantasy IV: The After was first released on Japanese mobile phones in episodic pieces. The game focuses on adventures of Cecil and Rosa’s son Ceodore, 17 years after the events of Final Fantasy IV. The game uses an altered version of Final Fantasy IV’s 2D engine.

To add fuel to the possibility of Final Fantasy IV: The After hitting Western shores, Producer Takashi Tokita commented:

“We just remade it, so it’s a bit of a stretch… [Laughs] Currently the sequel, FINAL FANTASY IV the After: Tsuki no Kikan is available for mobile phones in Japan. We’ll do our best to make this game available for our overseas audiences as well!”

It’s more than just a rumour, trust me (inside sources).
