Apparently the announcement of a Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 version hitting Asia is still on the cards, whether or not it will happen.

Microsoft Taiwan comments that:
“At E3 2008, it was announced that Final Fantasy XIII will be available for Xbox 360 platform in North America and Europe. There is no plan to launch the game in Taiwan. We regret any confusion caused by this.”

Even more unlikely is Japan getting ahold of the Xbox 360 version. kotaku questioned, Xbox Japan boss, Takashi Sensui on this matter.

- How do you feel about the announcement?
Sensui: We’re really excited about it.

- Do you think Final Fantasy XIII will be released on the Xbox 360 in Japan?
Sensui: Ask them [Square Enix].
